Travel lift crane(also known as [hoist] or gantry crane or marine crane) special crane used to lift the ship from the water and transport it to the dock or near the dock. [1] These cranes allow ships with masts or tall superstructures to be transported on rigid supports because the tall masts can enter the center of the crane.
Elevators usually have two rectangular sides at the top of one end, which are connected by a single bridge beam. The crane is mobile, with four sets of steering wheels, one set for each steering wheel. The boat is usually hoisted with straps. The straps are hung between the sides. When in the water or on a hard shelf, they can pass under the boat. The wire on the pulley is used to lift the boat.
In order to move the boat out of the water, place the boat in a narrow dock, or hoist it by two paths along both sides, and at the same height as the rigid support. The traveling elevator can then be driven onto the path in order to position it on the ship. The boat can then be raised to the height of the rigid support, and then sail to the place to be lowered.
Travel Lifts-Marine lifts can have a variety of lifting capacities, from small ships of tens of tons to large ships of more than 1,000 tons. They usually lift loads at a speed of about 1 m per minute and can drive at a speed of 40 m per minute.
Ships need to be removed from the water for various reasons, including anti-fouling and removal of marine life, maintenance and inspection, and long-term storage. Due to the slow speed, sea travel elevators are impractical for regularly transporting ships.
There is also an amphibious version that can lift the ship directly from the sea.
